Bake this easy ball themed party cake that any young child that loves balls, will adore!

When my son turned 2 we threw a ball themed party because that was his favourite thing ever! This was his pretty cake, and it was so easy to make!

This is really not a difficult cake to “construct”. I do not have round cake pans of the same size, so I baked two different sizes(one white, one chocolate, find the recipes at the end of the post) and just cut the bigger one to be the same as the smaller one.

To get the top more or less flat, I used a trick my mom taught me: use a thread to cut the uneven top even.

I made butter icing(softened butter, icing sugar and electric green gel food coloring), and spread it all over. I kinda forgot to smear some in between the two layers, but no harm done, it was sweet enough!

Around the cake, I added Kit Kats(3 and a half slabs, the other half were pinched by the family), and on top, Astros were added. I know these are not available in certain countries, but you can use Smarties or M&M’s too.
I finished off the cake by adding some icing around the bottom and on the edge of the Kit Kats. And of course the little DIY Bunting from circle stickers, jewelry gut and bamboo sticks!
I used this Recipe for the Chocolate Cake, and it was deliciously moist. And our favourite Basic Moist White Cake recipe is below.

This ball-themed cake was a hit! Come see some more details on the Ball Themed Party!
