It is part 3 of the series Upcycled Dollhouse! And today I am showing you the bedrooms!
Of course there is a child’s bedroom and one for adults.
Let’s start with the child bedroom:
For the bed I’ve used a box, cut it originally with bed posts, but decided against it later(I didn’t like it). Lella helped painting the bed, choosing the colour too. Her cousin stuck the mini pom poms for the head board.
I’ve added a piece of foam covered in silk paper as the mattress and a small piece for the pillow. The “blanket” with stars is fabric of Lella’s robe(now too small), adding some sentiment to the project! I’ve cut out a star to make the pillow, threaded it closed and stuffing it with batting. On the floor a piece the fluffy fabric resembles a carpet.
The closet is made from ‘that’ box! I couldn’t resist, it has such a nice shape! I covered it with patterned duct tape, added two brads as knobs, and a piece of straw on the inside as the bar to hang clothes. Oh, and on the side is a (pocket) mirror too!
I had this small wooden compartment box and just filled it with “books” made from thick cardboard, and added a sticker as the book cover.
The shelves on the wall is made from craft sticks, the shapely type. It is stuck to the wall with double sided squares. On the shelves we added scrapbook pieces and stickers to resemble toys.
Now the main(adult) bedroom:
This bed was also made from a box, a cereal box. We did not have to paint the box because it was already a nice pink colour. The headboard is stuffed with a thin piece of foam and covered with patterned duct tape.
The mattrass is the same as the child one, foam covered with silk paper, and it has two pillows. The blanket is a white fleece fabric with flowers(scrapbook type) to prettify(is there such a word?) it. Another piece of fleecy fabric on the floor serves as a carpet.
The night stand is a small wooden box, painted pink and a frill finishes it off. The lamp is made from wire, beads, a button, a lid and a mini cupcake liner. So pretty! On the wall scrapbook frames, wording and stickers makes great decorations!
And that is the bedrooms! Leave a comment and tell me what you think, I’d love to hear from you!
