Today my daughter has a hat parade at school. Normally it falls before Easter, but this year it is a week later, but I still decided to make a Easter/Garden themed hat.
Here is what I did:
I’ve used a round box as the base and a small basket on top.
I cut a circle out with a craft knife so that the basket will fit in snugly.
Around the base of the basket pompoms were glued, and around the handle, I bent pipe cleaners with the birds and butterfly shaped buttons.
And of course: feathers!
Then I added a box inside the basket and made holes for the flowers.
These flowers are made from flowers buttons and pipe cleaners.
The hat was a bit “top heavy” so I added a piece of foam on the inside of the box and two ribbons that will be tied under the chin to keep the hat in place.
Unfortunately Lella didn’t feel like posing for a pic before school, will add one later when she’ll let me;)
