Does your child recognize his/her name yet? Do you have access to polystyrene cups and a marker? Use these ideas and let the fun learnin begin!
We’ve used these polystyrene cups for four different name recognition activities! First up: Name Stack!
Write each letter on a cup, making sure the whole letter is visible when stacked. Easy right?
Secondly, Match & Stack
Make another set like the previous one, this time matching the right letters. Mom can do the bottom name first, then child do matching and stacking.
Nr.3: Feel & Trace. Write the letters on the cups with the back of a paintbrush so it makes indents. Let you child feel the letters and trace over it in order. You could let your child use a fine paintbrush and paint to go over the letters too.
Lastly: Fix-it! Write the letters of the name on paper circles. Hide it under the cups (but put the cup letters in the wrong order, circle letters right order). Let the child fix it!
Great fun learning! Reuse the cups and draw on it with markers.
