Use a muffin tin and create a fun memory game, easily! This game is great for memory skills, but also colour recognition and matching too!
One could use a 6,12 or 24 cup muffin pan, depending on the ability of the child. One could use pompoms, small erasers, foam numbers or alphabet letters or even sight words. Whatever objects you use, make sure you have pairs.
Use cupcake liners or round papers that fit over the holes.
Cover up the items in the muffin pan. One could show the child the objects before you cover it up. Then, take turns to look for matching pairs. If you have a pair on the first try, you may have another turn, if not, it is the next persons turn. Take your pairs out and keep it for counting at the end. The one with the most pairs wins! You can play individually too!
My son(2.5 yrs) made his own game by looking for matching pompoms, adding them to the cupcake liners with a tweezer. A great game for developing fine motor skills too!
