Last year we used these mini gifts to work on fine motor skills with this Stuffing Stockings Tray Activity. This year we used as a memory game: Stuff-a-Stocking memory game!
These mini gift are just square polystyrene blocks covered with gift wrap and string. You can make your own: using polystyrene, match boxes or small blocks.
Depending on the age of your child, use that many colours and mini gifts. We started off with one of each colour, 6 gifts. Then we used two of each colour and increased it again later. We also used a mini stocking for this activity, but one can use a regular stocking too!
The first player choose a gift and add it to the stocking while the other player(s) close their eyes. When done, the other player(s) open their eyes and guess which colour gift is missing. Then the first player shows the missing gift to see whether the guess was correct. Increase the number of gifts to make it more challenging.
It is a simple game, but my kiddos loved it, and it is really good for developing memory skills!
