Gifts do not always have to be fancy and expensive. Simple brown bag gifts can be special too. See how you and your kids can do that here.
Every year I say I’m just going to give simple gifts, but simple can be special too! This year we made Ornament Cards which doubled as cards and gifts and we made these simple brown bag gifts too!
My daughter wanted to make these drawing brown bags for her two besties. She drew the trees(I didn’t know she could draw Christmas trees!), but you can draw or paint any Christmassy pictures. You can add more details(bling, glitter etc.) too!
Trim the top with patterned scissors and punch out the corners with a corner punch.
We baked cookie fingers to add to these gift bags. (using a pre-mix that did not hold its shape well. Note to self, always stay with a familiar recipe! We pressed words out like YUM, EAT etc. but it did not turn out so well because the dough did not keep shape). We dipped the ends into melted chocolate and sprinkles. Still yummy though! I will definitely try this again soon with our familiar sugar cookie recipe…
I used pictures from gift wrap on the other bags for teacher assistants. One could decorate it with anything really. I’ve seen pictures with doilies, which look pretty too!
Inside these bags were Cappuccino mixes, mini marshmallows and then these cookies. A simple gift, but I think it was appreciated!
I love how a simple brown bag can be turned into a lovely gift bag with just a few tweaks, don’t you?
