Leprechaun Teen Number Sums

Moving past number 10 in Maths? Teen numbers are next and how to work with two digits. This can be confusing to students, but with lots of fun practice it can be mastered! Use these leprechaun teen number sums printables to do just that!

Students need to learn that numbers are infinite. Teen numbers follow number ten and then it still carries on! Make it fun to learn about teen numbers and beyond!

How to set up this leprechaun activity

Print and laminate(or use a dry-erase pocket) the leprechaun printables(Freebie access below), Cut the cards, the number line and the tiny leprechaun with a peg. Provide a dry-erase/whiteboard marker.

How to use the leprechaun teen number sums printables

Write the number 10 in the first block, then count the loose coins and write in the second block. Count using the number line and “jump” with the marker 2 places forward(in this instance).

Use your leprechaun to “jump” the numbers for added fun!

The leprechaun is carrying a lot of heavy gold coins there! Making use of the little man makes this exercise hands-on and will help children that need that visual clues to fully understand the concept of teen numbers.
