The 3rd booklet in the Teach Me series is available(finally) now- Blends booklet!

After teaching letter sounds, CVC words and together with Sight Words, blends are the next step. Blends are simply 2 or 3 sounds that are verbalized together to roll easily of the tongue. You can still hear each sound(not like digraphs where a new sounds is formed) when segmenting, but when learnt as a unit it makes writing and reading easier.

It makes sense to see the blend as a unit visually, that is the reason for the blends in blocks, then adding the rest of the sounds when blending the sounds to form the word.
There are more than 30 blends included, beginning and ending blends PLUS common 3 letter blends.

I include word searches again for fun, 3 in total. Different fonts are used for a reason- students will encounter a variety of fonts in their everyday life, so they should be exposed to it while learning too!

It is always recommended to use hands-on activities to teach all subjects. I have, once again, included the letter tiles as an insert. Remove and laminate the letters, then cut the cards to be used for word building. TIP- attach the letters that make the blends temporarily together with sticky tape to enforce the idea of it being a unit when building words.

The booklet is ink-friendly too! Just print the cover page on a colored paper AND remember to print back-to-back! Also, I did not add much pictures etc. because I do not want to hinder learning with too many visual distractions. There is a place for pictures, perhaps when doing hands-on learning, and if you want to, the students can add their own pictures to personalize their booklets.
A great, handy little product to use in a class, or at home, to teach blends and to track progress!
