Make this adorable salt dough Grinchmas fingerprint ornament with your kiddos to add to your Christmas tree this year. What a lovely and sweet keepsake!

We are super excited to be joining in the 10 Days of Christmas series! We had to choose a book and make an ornament inspired by that book and we chose….How the Grinch stole Christmas!
What you need to make this ornament:
- Green salt dough(use equal amounts of flour and salt, mixed with little bit of green colored water. You only need about a quarter of a cup of flour and salt for one small ornament like this.)
- Red paint/marker
- Circle and heart cutters
- String
- Letter cookie stamps like these

How to make this ornament:
Roll the salt dough out onto the baking tray you will use, about 1cm thick. Then, use the round cutter to cut a circle and make a heart indent with the heart cutter- not cutting through! Let your child press his/her fingerprint inside the heart shape.
Lastly, add the date and “Grinchmas” wording with the stamps. This is totally optional though, you can add the child’s name instead. Remember to make a small hole for the string.
Bake the salt dough ornament on low heat, 80’C or 160’F for around 3 hours, turning the ornament around halfway through. You can air dry it too, but it takes a few days.

After it cooled down completely, paint the fingerprint heart. Add the string and voilá! A pretty Grinch-inspired fingerprint keepsake ornament!
How pretty, and a good ornament to make when you have read the book or watched the movie- The Grinch!
