Upcycle a wooden spool into a spool chalk table!

We had this spool for a while and just used it as it was(the smaller one was turned into a Toad Stool Table), but I never got around to painting this one. So, after it bothered me for quite a while, I decided to turn it into a simple chalk table.
After cleaning it up a bit, I gave it three coats of chalk paint. This happened over three days since you have to wait for the layers to dry properly.
Then I got lazy: got blue spray paint and spray painted the rest of the spool. But it turned out so nice! Almost reminds me of blue skies!
I added a tin with chalk and a sponge to the very convenient holes.
The first thing my son wanted to do is make a road for his cars and a parking lot!
The best thing about this table: you just clean it with water and then you can create something totally different! Fun, right? And all it cost was the paint, which was not much at all!
So, if you can get your hands on a spool like this(or any old table will work too), make a simple chalk table your kids will love!
