Simple Dinner Planning

I have to confess something: I do like Apps for all kinds of tasks, but for dinner and shopping planning, I still like to use pen and paper! I needed a better way of planning dinner, so I grabbed a plain old notebook and did this:

A simple notebook dinner planner! There is no better time to get organized at planning dinner menus and shopping lists than NOW!

Of course, I had to make it all pretty, just because planning need not be dull. I used rainbow duct tape(have you seen my Folder Makeover) to cover the front of a plain shorthand notebook:

The shorthand notebook has a line in the middle, which makes it easier to cut. (One could use a plain notebook without the lines and draw lines in.)

I cut the line, because I want to tear the one side, that says ‘buy’, off to take with when I shop. The other side gets the date, and the menu planning happens there.

I used different, vibrant colours when I wrote down my first weekly planner. I will not pretend that I will always use colours(it is time consuming), but it does make a dull core more interesting, lol!

We are trying to eat more healthy through the week, so I plan on that and leave the weekends for more impromptu dinner ideas, thus only planning Monday through Friday.

planning
I usually shop on a Monday morning for the week ahead, so this planning needs to be done by Sunday night. Monday morning, I tear off the right piece of paper, stick it in my purse and then I’m ready to do a quick dash to the supermarket.

Having a list not only saves time, but it saves on buying things you don’t really need too!

This will be a lifesaver for me, and I hope for you too!

Any other tips on making dinner planning simple? Do share it, please!
