Your children will love to make these salt dough ornament Christmas cards that doubles as a pretty card and a gift.
Today we are joining in the Kid-made Cards Series by showing you how to make this super cute card and salt dough ornament idea, perfect to give as a gift/card to teachers, friends or family!
My kids helped with making the salt dough shapes, some with words(made with our Alphabet Cookie Stamps) others not. We used the recipe: 1 cup of flour and one cup of salt with half a cup of water. Then the shapes were baked at 80’C/160’F for 3 hours. (We made these the same day we made these cute Perler bead ornaments since we had enough salt dough leftover.)
I then spray painted it with gold spray paint. (One can let the kids paint the shapes as well.)
This scrapbook card stock was perfect(one was black with golden spots on corrugated board, the other embossed) together with silver string.
The idea is that the salt dough shape is detachable to use as a tree ornament, so, I only temporarily attached it to the card as shown below, with string and a strip of Washi tape.
The bigger shapes were attached with only one hole and the smaller stars had two holes.
Pretty salt dough ornament cards that double as cards and gifts!

I love how festive these cards look!
