Today is Project: Recycle & Create day and we are reusing scrap paper! We made these lovely punch art monogram canvasses that will go on the kids’ bedroom doors.
We used cut-offs from scrap book paper, blue hues for my boy and pink hues for my girl(I know, so predictable, but that is what we had on hand) together with a heart punch and flower punch.
I wrote the initial on the canvas while they did the punching. Did you know punching is great for hand strengthening too! Then came the sticking…
I must be honest and say they did not one far with the sticking. For one, it did take long and two, the fingers got all sticky. A better way would be to make dots of glue for them with liquid glue. Or, to be safe, leave this craft for older kids(or adults)!
I covered the initials with the cut outs and then I used those small double sided blocks to add the last few to give it a 3D look.
The ribbons were added last before it went on the doors.
A beautiful craft idea for using up those off-cut scrap book paper! You can use this idea to make cards too: make initials or the number of the birthday person!
