Preschoolers love learning about colors! Here is another FREE printable, Match the Buttons, to develop color recognition and fine motor skills too!

Match the Buttons pin

Color recognition and matching are important skills for preschoolers to learn to get ready for big school. Make it fun to develop these skills by using a variety of activities. See this LEGO Dump activity and Dinosaur Egg Match.

What you will need:

  • The printable(download instructions, to gain access to Freebies, at the end of the post)
  • Colored buttons- same colors as the shirts on the printable
  • Tongs(optional)

Set out the buttons, tongs and printable. TIP: use a soft cloth/placemat to prevent the buttons from ending up all over the table and floor. Let the child match the colored buttons to the correct shirt.

Picking up the tiny buttons with tongs is quite tricky, but even if the child does not use tongs, only the pincer grip to pick up the buttons, it still develops those fine motor skills needed for writing one day;)
