Do you teach early readers or are your child interested in learning to read? These letter cards and printable pack that goes with the cards is a good start for young kids who are starting to read. Work on phonological skills, reading of three letter words(CVC), alphabetical order and many more early literacy skills!

You can get the cards FREE(find the FREEBIES access instructions below) and there are two versions on the cards. The “outline” font is great to use for tracing too and it looks fine when printed in black and white. Use these letter cards to play a game to match upper and lower case letters.

As part of the paid product, you will get these mats(5 pages) to match the sounds to the picture. You can also cut the pictures out and play a memory game with it, matching it to the beginning sound.

Then, the Flip and Spell mat comes with a recording sheet for real and nonsense words. It is quite important for a child to realize a word is real or not to make sense of written texts when reading.

Also included in the pack are mats to fill in beginning, middle and ending sounds. This skill we call phonological awareness where a child can identify sounds within a word and fill in the missing ones. Lastly, there is a mat for alphabetical order. Add a letter and ask the child what letters are next in the alphabet.
