This week we are playing with things starting with letter E for our A-Z Play at Home series! (Do click on the blue link to see our other activities from A to D.) We used our plastic eggs(well, the three we have left from Easter) and had an egg roll challenge, so fun!
This activity, like all the others in this series, ticks the box of NO prep. (It also ticks the box for FRUGAL fun: reusing eggs or balls and a slide.) Simply grab the eggs(or use balls) and head outside. You can play inside as well, using a long cushion or cardboard box, like we did with this Ramp fun activity a while back.
Similar to the activity above, the aim is to get the eggs in the bucket. Easier said than done because the eggs do not roll in a straight line!
You can play with one egg each or, see how many eggs you can roll into the bucket having three chances. Or make it a challenge by adding a timing aspect! Each player gets one minute to roll the eggs into the bucket as many times as he or she can. This involves getting up and down from the slide very quickly, making this a vestibular activity too.
Counting, adding up and comparing are some skills being developed in a playful way with this egg roll challenge. Super simple fun at home!
