Make your own DIY magnets by reusing old magnets and stickers!

We can all do with more magnets, right?! Our magnets seem to disappear and there is always another note, achievement award or artwork that needs to go on the fridge. Grab old magnets, you know those promotional ones you don’t like but use because you need them, and pretty them up with stickers! So easy, the kids will enjoy helping you with this project. This makes a great craft for tweens/teens.

It is really straightforward to make your own magnets. Simply decide on the sticker you want to use and cut the magnet to more or less the same size. Then, pull off the original sticker and replace it with your one. Finally, cut the magnet to size.
You can use any type of sticker. I’ve used scrapbooking stickers that I had on hand here. Alternatively, if you do not have stickers, pictures from a magazine, or miniature ones your kids drew, can be stuck on the magnet with glue.

If you’d like the magnet to be more durable you can give it a spray of varnish or a coat of podge. You can add more embellishments like rhinestones or glitter if you’d like.

And there you have DIY magnets that will pretty up your fridge or note board plus it is super useful too!
