Are you working on final blends with your kiddos? This constructing blends activity is perfect for extra practice during a construction unit/theme!

Blends are two letters next to each other in a word, each individual sound still recognizable. (Whereas digraphs are two letters combined to form a new sound.) You do find blends at the beginning of words(see examples in our Blends Booklet) and at the end. This activity focusses on the final, or ending, blends.

How to prep this activity:
Print the (free) cards and recording sheet(one per child). Laminate the cards if you wish for them to be more durable.

How to use it:
Simply find the pairs to make blends.

There is more than one option, so look carefully. Write the blends down to remember which ones you have already spotted!

You can mix and match the pictures as well to find even more blends!

Practice recognizing final blends by using these fun constructing blends printables!
