Chocolate Chip Cookies

Who does not like chocolate chip cookies? These cookies are yummy AND so easy to make, even kids can do it by themselves!

Choc chip cookies

Some chocolate chip cookies are crunchy and crumbly, others are chewy and soft in the middle. Which type do you like best? This recipe is the soft and chewy type, so yummy!

Ingredients
You will need:
  • ½ Cup butter, softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp baking SODA
  • 1 tsp hot water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 ½ cups of plain flour
  • 1 ¼ cups of choc chips
How to bake chocolate chip cookies with the kids:

Mix together the butter and sugars until smooth. Add egg and vanilla, mix well. Dissolve the baking soda in the water, then add to the batter. Add flour and salt, mix until combined. Lastly, fold in chocolate chips.

Chocolate Chip dough

Roll balls of dough and place on the baking sheet. Make sure to leave space for it to flatten and spread some.

Choc Chip Cookies

Only let the cookies bake for 10 minutes, do not overbake! It is ready when it is just slightly turning brown.

Easy, kid-made chocolate chip cookies!

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes
Total Time 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • ½ Cup butter, softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • ½ tsp baking SODA
  • 1 tsp hot water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 ½ cups of plain flour
  • 1 ¼ cups of choc chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare your baking sheets.
  2. Mix together the butter and sugars until smooth. 
  3. Add egg and vanilla, mix well.
  4. Dissolve the baking soda in the water, then add to the batter.
  5. Add flour and salt, mix until combined.
  6. Lastly, fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of batter onto your baking sheet. Leave space so that it can spread.
  8. Bake for 10 minutes just until the edges start to brown.
  9. Let it cool and enjoy!

Notes

Flour can be substituted with gluten-free flour.
