Who does not like chocolate chip cookies? These cookies are yummy AND so easy to make, even kids can do it by themselves!

Some chocolate chip cookies are crunchy and crumbly, others are chewy and soft in the middle. Which type do you like best? This recipe is the soft and chewy type, so yummy and really easy to bake with the kids!

You will need:
- ½ Cup butter, softened
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp baking SODA
- 1 tsp hot water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 ½ cups of plain flour
- 1 ¼ cups of choc chips
How to bake chocolate chip cookies with the kids:
Mix together the butter and sugars until smooth. Add egg and vanilla, mix well. Dissolve the baking soda in the water, then add to the batter. Add flour and salt, mix until combined. Lastly, fold in chocolate chips.
You can always experiment with white chocolate chips or coffee flavoured chocolate chunks!

Roll balls of dough and place them on the baking sheet. Make sure to leave space for it to flatten and spread some.

Only let the cookies bake for 10 minutes, do not overbake! It is ready when it is just slightly turning brown.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Easy, kid-made chocolate chip cookies!
Ingredients
- ½ Cup butter, softened
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp baking SODA
- 1 tsp hot water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 ½ cups of plain flour
- 1 ¼ cups of choc chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare your baking sheets.
- Mix together the butter and sugars until smooth.
- Add egg and vanilla, mix well.
- Dissolve the baking soda in the water, then add to the batter.
- Add flour and salt, mix until combined.
- Lastly, fold in chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of batter onto your baking sheet. Leave space so that it can spread.
- Bake for 10 minutes just until the edges start to brown.
- Let it cool and enjoy!
Notes
Flour can be substituted with gluten-free flour.
