It is time for Project: Recycle & Create and this month we are reusing cardboard rolls! We used cardboard rolls for this fun process art activity.
I added bubble wrap, elastic bands and foam stickers to cardboard rolls. One could add other stuff as well to explore different textured printing.
Drops of paint were added to a large paper:
With the second round my daughter did squeeze the paint onto the paper(great for hand strengthening) and chose the colours:
She rolled the cardboard rolls through the paint drops to see what prints it made:
This got quite messy, but she loves messy, see: mixing the colours seems to be more fun than the intended printmaking, but that is the whole idea with process art: it’s about the process and not the product!
End results: not very pretty, but pretty awesome in terms of sensory exploration!
Would your child(ren) like this type of activity? What would you use on your cardboard rolls for printmaking?
