Tic-tac-toe or Xs and Os… A classic “paper-and-pencil” game. We decided to do a bit more of an outdoor version using some rocks and giant outdoor chalk.

The kids love this game – it’s exciting, fun and each round only lasts a few minutes which keeps them busier for longer.

I like the rocks because it gives the kids a bit more texture to feel while playing. You can play this game indoors or outdoors.

You can use anything as the 3X3 grid to play on, I used paper as an example but this rock one will be good for playing outdoors using chalk.

When we play games with our kids it helps them build their visual, strategical and logical skills; all of which are important for every day life. (Also see this Tic-Tac-Toe made from old magazines.)

Adding games to their life, especially games where they have to play with another person/ other people, it helps build their communication skills as well as teaching the concept of good sportsmanship.

Add this rocky Tic-Tac-Toe game to your home/ class and watch the little minds work!
