Today we have the letter Q in the A-Z of Animals Series! Q is for Quagga!

quagga
There is not a lot of animals starting with a Q, quoll, quail, Quinling Panda, Quetzal and Quagga!

I chose to do Quagga because it is an extinct animal of South Africa! It is a subspecies of the common zebra. Quaggas were mammals living on the plains of South Africa and had less stripes than zebras. The last quagga died in a zoo in Amsterdam in 1883.

You can make this cardboard roll craft, although we made it and called it a zebra, it can be a quagga as well, since it is only the head-part we did as the craft.

You need:

  • Cardboard roll
  • Black and white paint
  • Black cardboard
  • Googly eyes
  • Glue

What to do:

Paint the cardboard roll black and white stripes. While it dries, cut the mane, ears and fringe from the cardboard. When dry, bend the roll as shown in the picture. Make a slit at the back to add mane. Glue the ears, fringe and eyes on.

A very cute craft that can work as a zebra or quagga!
