Easter crafts are so fun to do with kids! It does not have to be fancy and you don’t need to spend money on many supplies. Simply use a milk container and your craft supplies on hand to make this cute basket. PS: Have you seen all these DIY Easter Baskets?
You will need:
- An empty milk container
- Yellow craft paint
- Marker pens or crayons
- Googly eyes
- Chenille stems/pipe cleaners
- Ribbon
- Medium-sized pom pom
- False nails and a small piece of pink foam
What to do:
Wash and dry the milk container. Use a marker pen and draw the outline for one ear and the head. Cut out an ear and head. As milk containers are made out of soft plastic, you can use normal scissors, so older kids can do this themselves, younger ones might need help.

To define the ears a bit more, use a darker color around the edges. If you are using crayons, show them to work from the inside outwards, by placing the ear on another piece of paper. use the crayons to add a bit of shading or draw patterns on the body.

Let the kids paint the container with yellow, pink or brown craft paint. Once the paint is dry they can decorate the bunny. We used wax crayons but you can use marker pens, glitter, patterned paper, anything goes!
Once one ear is cut, press the top of the container flat and draw the outline for the other ear. Cut the other ear and the other half of the head piece. Cut the back of the container on a lower line to form the basket. Cut a small circle piece in the center of the back for the tail.

Glue the eyes. Fold a piece of pink chenille stem to form a mouth and glue. cut a small triangle out of foam for the nose. False nails make great teeth, but they can draw the teeth.
Cut a white pipe cleaner into different lengths and let them glue the whiskers. Glue the pom-pom on the back to make the bunny tail.

Punch a hole in each ear and loosely tie the ears with ribbon to make a carry handle.

And there you have a milk container Easter basket ready for the hunt to begin!
