It’s Rhyme Time again, whoop!
Last time we had fun playing Little Miss Muffet, did you see the post?
Now this time we are learning the rhyme ‘Miss Polly had a dolly’!
I had this idea to make a dolly comfort pillow for when my daughter feels sick. It is a bit of a twist with the rhyme: a sick dolly, that got better, making her feel better too!
It is a keepsake too, because I used a pillow she had on her bed before she and her brother shared a room, and the clothes was one of the first she had!
Here is how I made it, and it is really easy too!
A cylinder type pillow(you can use a small rectangular one too):
Then sewed on two eyes and a mouth(one can draw it too, no need for sewing). It was quite tricky getting it symmetrical!
I used brown wool for the hair. These were glued on with a glue gun. Four strands of wool and then separated each strand to get a softer look:
I also glued the face onto the pillow with the glue gun:
The clothes went around the pillow dolly, with the arms tucked in, out of the way.
She loved her dolly pillow, and I’m sure the dolly will do the job of comforting once needed!
Go check out the fun ideas from Adventures of Adam and Messy Little Monster too!
This is amazing! I want one!! Looks so snug and cuddly. What a clever Mummy
