These air fryer cheese muffins as savory muffins are a great snack and perfect for lunchboxes. Only 6 ingredients and 12-15 minutes later and you have delicious cheese muffins!

This is a basic muffin recipe and can easily be adapted to taste. For instance, you can add bits of cold meat, like our Biltong & Cheese muffins, or grated vegetables. You can also add spices or herbs(mustard powder or paprika is great) to make it more flavorful. And then you can use butter, cream cheese, Marmite/Vegemite spreads if you’d like.

I’ve used my air fryer(I do love my air fryer, it even goes camping with us!) to bake the muffins, because it’s so much quicker than the conventional oven and no preheating is required. You can however use your oven, just add 5 minutes to the baking time and preheat as per normal.

TIP: Use self-raising flour instead of the flour and baking powder combination for a better rise.
One can use souffle pots(similar to these) as I used here, silicone muffins molds, or even Tuna tin cans in the air fryer. Whatever you would use in your conventional oven can also be used in an air fryer because it is basically a mini fan-forced oven.

Simply add the wet ingredients, then the dry ingredients and mix. Scoop into your containers and air fry for 12-15 minutes at 180’C, depending on the size of your containers. So easy, your kids will love helping you make these air fryer cheese muffins. Find the printable recipe below!
