I have something quick and easy to prep to share with you today, and it is FREE! Monkey lines! Practice writing between the lines and correct letter formation with Mikey the Monkey!

Children starting to write the alphabet letters struggle to stay between lines because their spatial perception/awareness is not fully developed yet. Using visual aids like this monkey with it’s head, tummy and tail will definitely help to make them aware of where the letter must go. We call it the head, tummy and tail lines. A letter “a” for example is only a tummy letter, the letter “t” is a head and tummy letter whereas the letter “g” is a tummy and tail letter.

This is the first time I used this printable booklet with my 6 year old. He is still getting used to writing between lines as you can see. But one can work through the booklet at the beginning of the year, and again in the middle of the year and later at the end of the year and you will see the improvement between the 3 booklets.
The pages include the alphabet, upper and lower case letters as well as the ! and ? PLUS a blank page with only lines. You can use these for writing words, sentences etc!

Help your child/students gain confidence so that they can also say “I can write between the lines with Mikey the Monkey!” Get your free printable booklet on our Freebies page, follow the instructions below!
