We used a fruit container to make this cute spider recycle craft to go along with the book The Forgetful Spider!
During story-time, this little spider came in handy as a prop to help tell the story! The kids also then made their own spiders to play with and to retell the story. We even sang Incy Wincy Spider with our little friends.
Material used:
– Black fruit containers(the one’s peaches come in)
– googly eyes
– pipe cleaners
– red craft foam or cardboard
– glue
– small red beads(optional)
What to do:
Simply cut the fruit container to use the circles for the spider’s body. Make eight small holes at the sides for the legs.
Cut the pipe cleaners, so you have eight pieces. Press these through the holes. We added the red beads as “shoes” at the end of the pipe cleaners so it looks like our spider in the book.
Add the eyes and mouth and voila!
A cute spider made from recycling material! And a great way to reuse some of those recyclables that we throw away.
What a cute idea! I love that it goes with the book too!
That turned out so cute! I love projects that go with books! Pinning!
