We have been learning the I-E sound, or split I sound as I call it. This Bingo game made it more fun, and fun is what kids need to remember better, right? See this fun way of learning words with sticky notes too!
We have a list of words on flash cards our students learn during the time we are doing a certain sound. Obviously, you get more I-E words, but that is the reason I added these specific ones.
We used our flash cards to read the words and blocks to place on the words read. I would recommend you print two sets of the printable and cut up one set. Throw away double words, so just keep one “mice” word block for example. These words you use to pull from. Does it make sense?
Each player gets a turn to pick up a word and read it, everyone looks if they have the specific word. Be careful, some words look similar.
If you have the word, you add a block over that word.
The player that has 4 blocks in a row says BINGO and wins!
To extend the game, a player must make an oral sentence with the word.
A fun game to revise the sound I-E!
