Father’s Day is almost here! Are your kids making something for dad/grandad? Here is a frugal, easy, but special idea: A Remote caddy for Daddy!
And you won’t believe what were used to make this holder: a tissue box!
I chose to use photos as decoration around the box, but one could use drawings of the kids too, or a combination of both!
Here is what to do:
– Cut the box
– Paint the box, inside and outside
– Cut the photos/drawings to fit onto the box, leaving a tiny bit open as a frame
– Decoupage the photos onto the box. Basically stick the photos to the box with Mod podge or diluted glue, and “paint” over the photos with the podge to cover the whole box. I did 3 layers of podge, that way the photos look more “part” of the box and most bubbles are smoothed out.
After the first coat:
After the third coat, note the difference?
There you go, a sweet(and useful) gift for Father’s Day!
Oh, and another idea: Dad can use this for a stationary holder on his desk too!
We need one of those! Neat idea 🙂
