Do you have young kids learning about shapes? Use these free Easter shapes playdough mats for fun sensory learning!

Shapes are so fun to learn about! There are many activities that one can do and themes one can incorporate! (See loads of fun ideas in our Colors & Shapes ebook.) Playdough activities are one are our favorite ones since it is a tool that can be reshaped after a “mistake” so it gives a child a sense of achievement even after a failure.

How to Prepare this activity:
Find the free printable Easter shapes playdough mats on our Freebies page under the Easter category and print it out. You can enlarge these if you want it bigger(it prints 2 on a page, so each shape is an A5 size).
Laminate the pages or use a dry-erase or plastic pocket. Provide playdough- you can do the same colors as the eggs so that doubles as a color matching activity too, or use one color if you don’t want to risk playdough mixing, lol!

The easiest way to form the shape is to roll a snake first and then “drape” it onto the shape of the printable.

Form the shapes and read the names too! Shapes included in the set are: circle, oval, square, rectangle, triangle, diamond, star, heart, pentagon, hexagon, heptagon and octagon.

Now decorate the egg some more with other colors of playdough or beads/buttons/pompoms!
