Remember all these fantastic felt busy box ideas? I’m adding to the collection every now and again and today it is a Mix and Match Penguin felt busy box!

Again, I used a plastic lunch/snack box with flip lid( similar to This one) to add these bits and pieces in. The lid is lined with a light blue felt piece.

I used some black, white and yellowish-orange felt for Mr Penguin. And large-ish googly eyes:

Penguin pieces

I cut these free-handedly looking at a picture of a penguin. I promise I will make work of it to start making templates you can print and use soon!
I attached felt to the back of the googly eyes so it will stay in place while traveling.

Mr Penguin

I cut four different colored hat, mittens and scarf. (One can cut even more colors, I was just pressed for time.) Each hat has a corresponding colored mini pompom.

Coloured accessories

The idea is to 1). Match the colors of the accessories(working on color recognition).

Match colours

2). Mix two(or more) colored accessories to find which colors work well together.

Mix colours

3). Go crazy and add any colors you’d like.

This is another fun felt busy box idea to keep your little one entertained during quiet time or traveling, since this is a travel-friendly activity!
