This month we are joining in Project: Recycle & Create again, this time to make a gift, recycling an item, and this is what I made:
This DIY fine motor skills toy made from an upcycled baby wipes container was a hit with my 22 month old boy, and even his 4 year old sister had fun playing with it, pretending it is a monster they have to “feed”! It would make a lovely gift too!
It is easy to make. One could use the container as it is, or decorate it with duct tape/washi tape like I did here:
It was a bit tricky getting the duct tape around the container smoothly(without bubbles), but it came out nice enough, don’t you think?
It took me about an half hour to cover the container, and then I gave it to my son to play. He used his fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to post the bottle tops to the hole of the container. He found the lid interesting too, although he needed help in opening the lid again. I am sure he will figure how to open it up soon enough!
Easy and frugal DIY toy! AND it is guarenteed educational fun too!

That is a great game. Even though ours are four years old, I think they would love it too. The tape covering you did looks very professional, as if you bought a fancy wipes container with that pattern already on it. Well done!
I bet that kept him busy for a long time! Great idea

My little cousin would love this game! I love the tape to decorate it – great idea!
Great idea to use duck tape to make the container a bit more fun looking! We have a ton of tape in deferential patterns (and and ton of wipes containers!) I think my little munchkins would enjoy this 🙂
Absolutely adorable and great game! I think I’ll be trying this out for my 7 month old when he’s a little older!
Please consider that this toy may be a choking hazard for children, even 3-4-5 year olds tend to put things in their mouths. I would not encourage anyone to use this unsupervised
Obviously, this toy will be used under parent supervision;)
