It is an easy DIY idea that is frugal too!
For these touch and feel shape cards you will need:
- Cardboard(check the recycle bin)
- Pipecleaners
- Glue Gun or strong glue
Simple bend the pipecleaners into the desired shapes(I only made a few to show you, but will add more to our collection soon).
Use a glue gun or strong glue to glue the shapes to the cardboard. Make sure there you feel no sharp bits of pipecleaners when tracing over the shapes, by bending the wires downwards.
PS: You can add the shape name to the cards for kids that are ready to learn the names as well.
Let your child trace the shapes with his finger and tell you the name of the shape. Make it a guessing game by closing eyes and guess which shape you feel only by touching and feeling the cards.
Add these to a small bag and use in the car or waiting at the doctors office like a busy bag.
