It is that time again, Project: Recycle & Create! I love this Project, not just is it frugal fun, but it challenges my creative thinking, and what amazes me is that all the participating kid bloggers has a different idea with the specific item each month! (Find the links to the participating bloggers at the end of the post, and a linky! Also look out for the links of the previous projects we’ve done so far.)

This month the item we all have to work with is Plastic lids/Bottle caps.
Unfortunately I’ve lost some of my blogging mojo, but we played with the bottle caps in different ways anyhow, some where child-led, some had a bit of guidence, and that is what I will share with you.

We played outside creating some pictures with the caps inside lids.

We didn’t use glue, rather Prestik(bubblegum-like adhesive), so that we can play again and again. My daughter loves this stuff, but we had to keep it away from the ever-mouthing brother!

The following day we added some googly eyes and made faces. Different emotions for different faces. This could aid in talking about emotions, especially with young kids. I’m thinking of doing a whole range of emoticons and using them in storytelling.

We sorted and counted colours, and L packed them on the circles of the fabric on the couch. W had fun throwing it on the floor, because why? It makes a noise, duh!

Counting, sorting etc

Fun frugal learning, with so much possibilities! Try it with your kids today!

There’s so much you guys thought to do with them (including throwing them on the floor – I certainly wouldn’t have thought of that one! lol!).
