Make your own DIY magnetic travel games for when you are going on holiday this festive season!

We are going on holiday soon, and will be in need of some travel games to play while traveling. PS: This magnetic tin of games will make an awesome gift! It is easy to make, and not expensive at all.
I bought Christmas stickers and used that to make the magnets. The magnet sheet I cut with a circle punch, and stuck to the back of the white circles I had from another activity. One could simply use cardboard circles too. The tree decoration magnets were cut according to the picture.
The little round containers are actually ones that used to have bought playdough in it. (So recycling here too!)
I used a tin that came with cookies last Christmas, and stuck wrapping paper to the top of the lid, using clear contact paper. This is used for the ‘Decorate’ activity, where the child can decorate the tree over and over again using the small magnetic decorations.
The ‘Ho-ho-ho Tic-Tac-Toe’ game is played inside the lid, using the green tape as lines.
The ‘Merry Christmas Memory Game’ is played inside the lid, using the red tape as lines. There is 12 sets of matching pictures, but one has to keep the age and ability of the child in mind. I will start with only 3 or 4 sets at first, then will progressively make it more as my 3 year old develops the memory skills needed for this activity.
The ‘Santa Spot’ game is not played in the box, but anywhere in the car or even at the destination. One family member will hide the Santa pictures and the other must then find it. At the end, the one with the most Santas win! You can challenge older kids to hide the pics only where it will stick to the surface. Thus, the place where they hide it must have magnetic properties, eg a fridge, light switch etc.
These travel games will surely occupy my kids for a while!
Safe travelling for all who are leaving on holiday too!
