Pipe cleaners are one of my favourite craft items. One can do so much with it, and get so many different colours and types. For these decorations I used the sparkly ones.
This activity could be nice for older kids, maybe as a challenge: how many different Christmas tree decorations can you make using only 5 pipe cleaners?
Younger kids can still join in the fun, but will probably need help, or just copy an example. I did not even attempt doing this craft with my 3 year old, because I know she does not yet have the creative skills and visualization skills to make these. She will probably not even recognize some of the shapes we as adults know as typical Christmas decorations! Plenty of time for her to learn still;)
I made these 5 decorations under 10 minutes, so easy and fun!

What other shapes could one do with only pipe cleaners? Get your kids’ creative juice flowing and come share your photos on our Facebook wall!
